Wow! China makes the largest telescope in the world and this is the result

China’s Five hundred meter Aperture Spherical Telescope or FAST Telescope named Tianyan finally get his first discoveries.
The Astronomers that used this FAST Telescope found 2 stars, named PSR J1859-01 and PSR J1931-01, on 22 and 25 august 2017. The discovery was later confirmed by the Parkes telescope in Australia on September 10, 2017.
The two stars also called FP1 and FP2 are spinning stars surrounded by magnetic fields. This field directs electromagnetic radiation into the light that colors every circle in rotation. When viewed from the earth, the two stars look pulsed (pulsing) so-called pulsars.
FAST engineer deputy chairman Li Di says FP1 is a pulsar with a rotation period of 1.83 seconds and an estimated distance of 16,000 light years, whereas FP2 is a pulsar with a rotation period of 0.59 seconds and an estimated distance of 4,100 light years.
Both FP1 and FP2 do not stand out in distance, speed, or size; but they are the first findings for the largest radio telescope in the world.
In addition, this discovery also proves FAST's ability as the most sensitive telescope in the world.
With a 500-meter dish, FAST has 4,450 panels that provide coverage area of 196,000 square meters, more than twice the coverage area of the Arecibo telescope in Puerto Rico. The larger plate is able to collect more radio waves and can detect weaker signals.
This capability is perfect for use in search of pulsars, although the numbers are large, but the majority have radio waves that are weak or blocked by other space objects.
"The two newly discovered pulsars are a symbol of a new era of systematic discovery by Chinese radio telescopes," said Yan Jun, chairman of the National Astronomical Observatories of China.
