The photo he took was when the lightning struck the buildings of New York City, United States. And Piech requires hundreds of hours over the course of a year to change the photos that were originally 40 Megapixels to 5.45 Gigapixels. With this resolution we can zoom this photo and the results still look normal and not broken
Then how can he make it? Reporting from the Petapixel page, Dan Piech initially photographed the photo with a Canon DSLR 5D camera with a 24 mm lens. Then he visited the same place for weeks.
It does so to get a similar moment so that the photographs can be stacked and digitally edited. Piech was then used photographed in the same place again but with a different lens, the Supertele 400 mm.
And in total, Dan Piech requires 111 scene photos in small pieces. Then he combines it with a computer. As a result, he managed to create a picture that resolves the equivalent of 2,628 times HD television. Woww !!
